The collar has metal studs that act as decoration nowerdays, the back of the collars is fully lined as to hide the back of the stud. This collar has been manufactured with leather tanned with 100 percent natural fats. When cold, this fats sometimes migrate to the surface and leave a white, wax-like residue, which can be easily polished away with a soft cloth, this is a mark of quality.
